Great to read this piece. The Bill is more than timely. I do come down on the side of all those "pros" you mention. Look forward to following the progress of this story as it unfolds.

What about non-degree qualifications that are for the specific purpose of being able to work in a profession, e.g. Graduate Diploma in Teaching? It would be great if that was limited to content that is "directly and demonstrably necessary for doing the job". It would make some people's heads explode but I could live with that.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. All power to the Bill. Long overdue. Trainee Doctors at Med School are being fully indoctrinated in the 'appropriate' (ie goodthink) cultural narratives. As are lawyers and anyone else the wankers of wokedom can get their hands on. With Iwi in the background facilitating and demanding this so as to increase their cultural leverage across the 'motu'. Culturally appropriate behaviour then simply becomes cultural blackmail, essentially a pathway to extorting more money off the Untouchables (ie white, male, conservatives). To put it frankly, Boris is well fucking sick of the BS in this country. Someone needs to stand up and remove the layers of dishonesty. Of course, train Doctors to be sensitive to the needs of their patients (cultural, social, emotional), but current cultural training focuses on one activist group alone (three guesses who...) and thus fails to achieve anything useful. If this Bill can facilitate a degree of intellectual liberty for those in such vocations, then bring it on. I fail to see many problems with it.

I'm with you on all of that.

The Frank's complaints are just about the most egregious use of the process I can remember. Without knowing the identity of the complainants I'd guess that they are all part of the push to enthrone DEI principles (ie critical theory) into all areas of public life - what a waste of time and money.
