If you're still there you need to go on the other star wars land ride. It's a technological wonder, and worth the wait.

Thought about it but there was a wait line of 70 mins and we were time limited so Millenium Falcon was it.

Wonderful! Congratulations 🎈

I'm very happy for you,

Have a great time 😆

I also loved to read stories from Asimov and others,

Apparently Flash Gordon was there in silver underwear; Claude Raines was the invisible man,

Ha ha - channelling Rocky Horror. Well done. Heinlein’s “Starship Troopers” is a favourite along with many of Harlan Ellisons short stories. I think some of the more recent writing in the genre is a bit ponderous.

Not really on topic. but a story which has haunted me is called The Cold Equation about the female stowaway who is discovered after take-off, and told she must stop into space because no allowance has been made for he mass.Dennis

Escapism, first to hyperspace and the legacy of sci-fi's great authors, then to southern California and the Happiest Place on Earth. Just what's needed as Auckland heads into that part of winter where the nice crisp, clear cold tends to give way to the grey, overcast, wet variety.

A blast from the past as these were all favourite books of mine. "Childhood's End" had a huge influence on my thinking. But we part company on knuckle-biting rides!

Likewise about Childhoods End - I revisit the book again and again. Clarke has a very readable style.
